Hi,
I just installed FF and configured everything (sync, bookmarks, plugins...) and everything works except two options:
- "Open links in new tabs instead of windows"
- "When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately"
First option is UN-checked but even so it works. I disabled that option but for some reason links keeps opening in new windows insted in new tabs.
Second option is UN-checked as well but browser just keeps switching me to new tab (window) when I open it.
So, result is: I open link in new tab by clicking middle click on mouse and FF open it in new window and switch me to it. Basically I don't want that, I want to open page in new TAB in BACKGROUND by clicking middle click (just like in Chrome).
Is that possible?
I installed FF portable via portable launcher app on my USB flash (data travel 111 16gb). I checked write permission - everythign is ok. And yes: I tried to uninstall and install again.
Go to about:config and change this browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground to true

Doesn't help. I also disabled browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick earlier but that option didn't saved ether. So, my suggestion is: Firefox is not saving settings.
The Firefox that you have is different then mine because for me its working :/
Maybe try to do a vanilla (new) install of firefox portable somewere else and just change the setting in about:config to to see if something is wrong with your profile or firefox just dosn't work for you.
And if you want to middle click a bookmark to open in in the same windows loading in background without switching to it you have to put browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick to true

Ok I found what problem was: I reinstalled portable FF again but this time I didn't updated via FF settings, I just canceled update notification. So, I put updates on hold and will update via PortableApps launcher insted FF settings.
Update firefox via settings and not portableapps isn't recommended (it will break the app surely)
