Disable the splash screen for Thunderbird Portable 2nd Profile App

I would be thankful if anyone could help me out and tell me how to disable the splash screen for the Thunderbird Portable 2nd Profile App.

Neither exists a corresponding ini-file in the directory "Other\Source" nor does using such a file in the conventional suggested way work.

ThunderbirdPortable.ini in Data

While all copies of Thunderbird Portable are closed, explore to ThunderbirdPortable2ndProfile\Data and edit the ThunderbirdPortable.ini file. Add DisableSplashScreen=true as a new line at the end. Save that.

John, you are the best

John, you are the best Biggrin

I didn’t even notice there’s another exe- and ini-file within the data folder since i’m used to disable the splash screen in the root folder. Also, good hint to add the disable-line only when all instances of TB are closed. Surely this is often ignored.

Thanks again for your help!

Unusual, Welcome

The 2ndProfile launchers work a little differently because they're not launching the app and don't have a splash screen. They copy the most recent ThunderbirdPortable.exe to Data and launch that to start the app with an INI they configure to ensure the launcher can find all of the bits. That's why the INI that controls the splash screen is in that unusual location. You're welcome Smile
