[Closed] Firefox Portable 69 stopped opening links from external apps

Hello to all, launching
"FirefoxPortable.exe www.google.com"
or
"FirefoxPortable.exe -url www.google.com"
used to work well, but for the last version of FF it started to output a message:
"Another instance of Firefox is already running. Please close other instances of Firefox before launching Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition."

Opening links form other apps seems impossible now (since we all know that running just non-portable "firefox.exe www.google.com" results in another instance of Firefox, but without the profile).

Am I doing something wrong or has there been any breaking change?

Thanks!

Register Firefox Portable

If you want your Firefox portable to become the default app in windows (like a setup application does) you can use Register Firefox Portable in this blog (and yes after that many years it is still working)

Portabilizing application... 14 at the moment

Thank you, I have tried that,

Thank you, I have tried that, but no change. (I have made similar changes to the registry a long time ago).

The problem is different: Basically the underlying scheme stopped working today or in the last days.

Even running it manually as described in the first post, stopped working.

Updated a minute ago to

Updated a minute ago to current Firefox Portable 69.0.1 and that seems to have fixed it.

I found this in Release notes of the Firefox itself (not Portable), which explains it:

69.0.1 : "Fixed external programs launching in the background when clicking a link from inside Firefox to launch them (bug 1570845)"
