Add Thunderbird Address Book to the Platform launch menu

I want to be able to directly start my TB's address book and used these instructions to add an app to the menu:
https://portableapps.com/support/portable_apps_suite#addingotherapps

And these instructions to start the TB address book:
https://www.ghacks.net/2011/09/12/open-the-thunderbird-address-book-sepa...

In brief: create a shortcut to TB exe and add a parameter "-addressbook". This works perfectly, even when I link to ThunderbirdPortable.exe .

However, the Platform menu does not pick up the shortcut.

Any other ideas?

The Platform only shows .exe

The Platform only shows .exe files, so a shortcut will never be displayed.

You could try a .bat file and then convert it to a .exe file with any of the free bat to exe converters available.

Shortcut Here

You can find the shortcut to add to the platform on the Thunderbird Portable Support page here: https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable#addressbook

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

thanks!

Thanks so much to reply in such a nice way to an unnecessary question!

Usually I search for what I need prior to posting in a forum. I thought my needs were so special, that a search would not return anything useful. Only to see it's all taken care of already. And would have been perfectly searchable.

Lesson learned and now I alo have a PA login, finally.
