eject.exe %temp% Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64

I went through the entire Support Forum and could find not help.

I have a Windows 10 desktop HP Envy i7 and a Windows 10 laptop Dell Inspirion 15 i5 that will not eject the PortableApps USB drive.
Inspection reveals that "eject.exe" file in %temp% folder is not being deleted (even when the USB_Eject_Cleanup.bat is executed in Admin)
Therefore, when I try to eject the USB PortableApps again I get the error popup:
"eject
Could not write to windows temp dir!
The program will now exit.

This problem is recent. I had installed the Inkscape Portable app and I always check out any app I add or recommend to churches. When I selected the Help ?, Manual, my McAfee webadvisor warned me and I backed out. I tried to uninstall the Inkscape Portable app with no success. I had to go to a previous PortableApp without Inkscape Portable to get my Portable Apps USB working again.

I have McAfee Multi Access Total Protection (PC) and Malwarebytes Premium version 4.0.4 on my PCs. I ran a scan with McAfee and Malwarebytes on everything including the files in the %temp% folder. I tried using the McAfee Shred on the "eject.exe" file and it would not delete it either.

I have tried the PowerShell Remove-Item to delete file, Disk Clean up to delete file, Windows File Explorer with Admin to delete file, and "Settings, System, Storage, Temporary files, Remove Files." I downloaded "procexp.exe" from docs.microsoft.com and could not find files open from USB drive letter".

By the way, OpenLP Portable uses direct addressing to the data need for operation. Thereby, I must use "diskmgmt.msc" to change the USB with the PortableApps including OpenLP to U: drive. Is it possible that part of the problem is caused by the "U:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Bin\USB_Disk_Eject.cfg" file settings that were set when PortableApps was first installed on the USB drive?

I'm desperate. I use the PortableApps and OpenLP to help small churches with Open Source free software in my community.

Update

The OpenLP Portable app has all its data stored in the "data" folder. Direct addressing is used. Therefore, I always use "diskmgmt.msc" to set the USB drive to "U:" drive. Is it possible that during the first installation of PortableApps to the USB the "U:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Bin\USB_Disk_Eject.cfg" file is set to a specific the drive letter for USB used at the Portable Apps installation, and this is causing my problem?

Eject Error - Safe Fix

When ejecting the PortableApps USB, I have occasionally received the following error:
eject
Could not write to windows temp dir!
The program will now exit

Eject error caused by "eject.exe" file not being deleted from Windows 10 C: %temp% folder. This is a system protected folder and I found a safe way to delete the "eject.exe" file, so that PortableApps USB could be properly ejected without getting an error.
It's an 8 step procedure and the PDF can be opened or downloaded from the following URL:
https://anchorofgrace.org/training/Eject_Error-Safe_Fix.pdf
I have not as yet been able to determine why this file is sometimes not automatically deleted.

Unsupported App, Ask Publisher

We don't publish OpenLP and thus don't support it directly. It sounds like it is locking something on your drive that is messing with Eject. You'd need to ask the publisher of OpenLP about that.

I deleted your two additional topics about this for duplicate content. Please keep discussion here.

Problem was with PortableApps on USB 3.0 sticks

I'm sorry, for the postings, but I've had problems with PortableApps sticks with USB 3.0 sticks for a while. The new USB 3.1 sticks on the new computers are even worse. Just trying to help. OpenLP leaves some items open and the PortableApps "eject.exe" gets locked up because of the new Windows 10 update 1809 updates for USB ejection.

Updated fix of PortableApps.com USB eject on Windows 10 v1809

Well, I have finally come up with good fix to ensure the PortableApps USB 2.0, 3.0 and 3.1 properly eject. It was so simple.
32gb USB sticks are normally formatted with FAT32.
64gb USB sticks are normally formatted with exFAT.
Instead, format all the USB sticks or SD cards with NTFS, and everything is much better.
If the PortableApps "eject.exe" file does not eject, then follow with Windows "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media". If that doesn't work then "Reboot" the Windows 10 PC. Much easier than before.
