making it portable?

I've just started looking at Joplin.

It seems similar to tag spaces, in that it just plops files into a filing area. So quite 'inert'; not going to get messed around by database corruption.

Was the posting to see if there is any interest?

Joplin

The application is 64-bit ONLY (see the downloads available on the Developer's Website) so wouldn't' be be released here even if it were possible to create a PortableApps package.

That's pitty

I guess I somehow overlook it. Anyway I will hope that one day rules about 64-bit apps will change, or that author of Joplin will create portable version of it.

I've now modified the app so

I've now modified the app so that it compiles to a 32-bit/64-bit app and built a test package there:

JoplinPortable.zip

It might need some more testing to confirm everything works, including from a USB drive, but assuming it works would it be acceptable in that state?

Thank you

Thanks for the portable version. In my case it seems to work correctly from USB drive. I'm not developer, just normal user, so I'm not able to test it more.
App is now in .zip format, but I think it should be in .paf.exe format as all the other apps on this site.

Please release it!

@John, what prevents this app of being released? The app author did everything he was asked for. As Laurent is publishing a Portable version anyway on his GitHub, I assume he would be ready to regularly post a new release to PortableApps.com as well.

Or is PortableApps.com dead / not accepting any new applications anymore? Then please communicate this.

Negging

Negging will get you nowhere here.

Sorry, I realize I've been

Sorry, I realize I've been too offensive. That does not leave anywhere I agree. Please let me reformulate my question in a constructive way.

I am honestly wondering if there is any particular reason why nice, well-maintained apps like Joplin (and ConEmu, etc.) don't make it to the final collection of released apps (or not even betas).

It would be an acceptable answer if you said that no new apps will be released anymore just the existing ones will be regularly updated. Or there might be another reason? Maybe you just need testers?

Joplin runs on stick

Joplin runs just fine on my stick, (and my PCs, my iPad, my iPhone and soon my Linux box)

It can be run as a simple portable app or as a PortableApp following some of the PortableApp Format's spec.

Download JoplinPortable.exe from Joplin.org.

Either:

1. Put it in a new folder alongside all the other PortableApps. Run it. It creates a folder next to it called JoplinProfile which contains everything it needs on first run and does nothing else to your PC (apart from creating some temp stuff in AppData\Roaming\Joplin).

2. Download JoplinPortable_1.0.85.0.paf.exe and run it which creates 3 folders App, Data and Other and a launcher called JoplinPortable.exe (not to be confused with the one from Joplin.org.) Delete Joplin.exe from the App\Joplin folder, move the JoplinPrtable.exe got from Joplin.org and rename it as Joplin.exe.
