VirusTotal: One false positive wich is "HW32.Packed" a common false positive with programs that are compressed and the link of the scan
Tips: Even if there is already data file in the PC, don't worry because it will rename them with a Backup tag for the Repo folder, the app folder and the start menu shortcut and everything change on the PC will be rollback. So no previous file will be change/used on the PC.

I don't think there is a policy against Electron based applications.
For instance the new Skype is also based on Electron and there were official release of it.
