I made the portable version of the chromium version of Microsoft Edge. This is the version that you can currently download as an administrator on the Microsoft website.
Note: The app may crash as this is a portable version.
Also, note that you have to download the files into one folder.

I know the new Microsoft Edge is based on Google Chrome, so it should be an online installer, just like Google Chrome Portable.

I would like a portable version of Edge. I would rather use MS than Chrome or the other random Chromium variants. I know it's trivial but it's personal preference.

Yes but the portable executable in itself with its files is not illegal , why dont you let him post that minus the microsoft files? i can install edge myself and copy the folder to an empty edge folder !!!!
What is the purpose to have edge portable, when this is anyway on every windows present?

You can log in and have a secure profile on shared computer. I keep portableapps in an encrypted folder so all my browser can be logged into personal accounts with exposing emails and back information.
I can , windows keeps f***ing up and needs reinstall but then u can just move the portable folder to another drive like a USB drive and reinstall when your done you start the portable app with all your settings passwords and links intact opposed to having everything deleted.
Portable utility here. It downloads and unpacks whichever variant you choose, stable, beta, dev or all 3.
You can choose to unpack to separate directories and share the same user profile or independent for each.
I use the beta and dev versions as my daily browser. Updating and maintenance is very simple.

this app fixes problems if, for example, the regular edge won't start due to some kind of error in windows.
in addition, you can conveniently compare all existing edge browser versions from all channels include stable, beta, dev and canary channels.
app correctly opens any of the versions from any channels in your microsoft edge profile.
Though I'd add to this as I really wanted a portable version of a Edge.
First it's best remove Edge entirely from your PC, this is the only one I have found that works!; https://github.com/ShadowWhisperer/Remove-MS-Edge
Then download Edge Portable Updater; https://github.com/UndertakerBen/PorEdgeUpd/releases
This above doesn't contain the edge download but links to the edge version you want to install and creates a portable version in it's folder. Copy this to your Portable Apps folder after you have downloaded the version you want and away you go.
