This program has come in very handy with my new Work From Home status. I can keep in touch with my coworkers and stay productive. My coworkers installed the program from the source web site. I am using the PortableApps version of the program. I have noticed one issue... Each time I reboot my PC (without first shutting down the LAN Messenger program), the next time I launch the program it says it was shutdown improperly and I have to click OK then load the program again. Could the PortableApps launcher be changed to 'clean up' this file, log, marker, to prevent this error message? I noticed that my coworkers don't seem to be getting this error message when they reboot their PCs. Thank you for this program, and all your PortableApps programs!!!

Does anyone know what file is causing the issue? I can easily update my batch program to delete or rename the file before my batch file loads LAN Messenger on the boot process of my PC, if I only knew which file is causing the problem. Does anyone know?
Shutting down without closing your apps crashes them, which has the potential to lose settings and/or data. That is why there is a warning there.
Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, ect. Chrome, IE, Firefox, KeePass Database, Adobe Reader, UltraVNC, TrendMicro, HotKeyP, Retrospect, PingMonster, DirectoryMonitor, TCPLogView, NetworkConnectLog, WhoIsConnected, Firemin, memreduct_portable, Stickies, WizMouse, networx, just to name a few of the programs running on my PC all the time. None of them crash when I reboot my PC except for LAN Messenger. Several programs I run are PortableApps programs. My PC runs automation for 600+ PCs in a nonprofit hospital. It monitors and maintains the network, software, AV for the hospital. Of all the software running on my PC and all the software running on all the 600+ PCs, this is the only program that complains when I do a standard reboot of the PC. I have been PC Support for 32+ years (20 at one company and 12 at this company). It is not normal for a program to crash when the PC is rebooted.

LAN Messenger Portable is a dual EXE app. The LANMessengerPortable.exe launcher handles moving the settings for LAN Messenger to/from the registry. When Windows shuts down, the launcher closes without moving things out due to the language it is written in (NSIS). It sounds like you're not concerned about portability, so I'd recommend you use the local version of this app.
