Where in the registry is it being saved? HKCU\Software\KC Softwares\SUMo is where all SUMo settings should be and that whole section is saved.

In addition, the file settings.ini is saved as well.
I have tested the sumo.zip you have available (which is what SUMo Portable is based off of), and it doesn't respect the dark mode setting either.
In both cases, Dark Mode Value is just an extract setting in the existing structure... any reason for it not o be saved in PA ?
As Gord stated above, it doesn't appear your standard ZIP remembers the dark mode setting either.

I'll note that in both cases the setting is saved, it's just not being respected/recognized by SUMo on launch.
[EDIT] With the update today to 5.11.1.460, this setting is now saved.
