WindowTextExtractor can recover passwords stored behind asterisks (*****) from many of the windows apps. It allows you to get a text from any window of an operating system including modal dialogs, console windows, Windows desktop, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office programs and any window with support of Microsoft UI Automation (UIA).
It is portable and only depends on .NET Framework 4.0

At the moment we aren't releasing any .NET apps unless they are compatible with both .NET 2 and 4.
We have a large enough share of users on older computers that we need to ensure the apps we release can function on older systems without the user having to install additional software.
