Installing all apps

What is the possibility of bundling all the apps in zip format? And then just unzipping the large file onto a usb drive, so then you'd have all the apps you'd need? I am currently installing all the apps on a SSD. It is ridiculous that I have to click "agree" and "install" for nearly every app. Taking well over two hours to install 400+ apps on this drive. I've already tried using a mouse macro that clicks on these buttons, but it is hit and miss, doesn't work all the time. Just seems like a lot of work to install even say 30 apps. This is a clunky system at best, and could and should be improved upon. I am surprised this has not been addressed YEARS earlier. Suggestions?

I would say zero chance of a single zip. I don't (personally) believe there's too many people who need or want every single app available in the .paf format - you really need 8+ browsers? The zip would also be tens of gigs in size, I'm guessing 20 or 30 GBs.

You need to take up the issue of the license agreements with the developers of the software you want, Mozilla for instance, Google, etc, they're the reason you need to click agree before using the software. Oh, some of the apps require you download the app from THEIR website (Chrome IIRC is one), it can't be bundled.

Even if you could get everything into a nice single archive you're still going to have to download, install, and setup ALL 400+ apps - still going to take some time. How about the work that would have to go into building and setting up the archive to successfully extract and set up the platform after extracting 400+ apps - you wanna build and test that monster, I sure wouldn't.

The system really works nice if you want or need a large number of apps, you should use the Platform app to download and setup everything. I simply refer to the Platform app as the manager for the apps, it will download and setup all the tools plus give you a nice menu that will allow you to launch any app you've downloaded. I really don't have an answer if you're already using the Platform app to get all the available apps, if this isn't easy enough then the only alternative is to get someone else to do it for you.

A zipped bundle isn't possible

A zipped bundle isn't possible due to the licenses of some apps. We can't bundle the app in the installer but have to download the app at install time. These would not be compatible with a zipped bundle.

Even if we don't bundle the apps with online installers, the bundle would be outdated within a few days given the frequency of updates some apps go through.

Agreeing to all licenses in advance is planned for the future, but please remember there is basically only one person working on Platform features, who is also trying to run a business, and keep the apps updated in a timely manner. So some things have to take a back seat.

Oh yeah, very good and relevant point - the bundle created on Monday would be outdated by Wednesday.
