ZDoom

www.zdoom.org

A port (with enhancements) of the recently GPLed Doom/Doom II/Hexen/Heretic engine to 32-bit Windows.

It stores settings to an ini in its own directory, but is meant for multiple users.
If the username is Sally, every time it's launched by the Sally account, it uses an ini called zdoom-Sally.ini, if another account (let's call it John) uses it, it will use a different ini, zdoom-John.ini. Other than that, it seems portable.

Weird

I could have sworn I hadn't read that post, yet it was marked as read...
Any registry entries?

Did a quick search in

Did a quick search in regedit, and found nothing. Since everything seems to be saved in the ini, I wouldn't see the need. The source code is available too.

I could ask the author to make a "single user" mode, too. A launcher wouldn't be too hard to make, would it? All it would need to do is spoof the username.

Maybe

You just need to get the current user's name then rename the file.

heres a simple fix

heres what i do.
after setting it up i exit zdoom.
i rename the zdoom-name.ini file to zdoom.ini
wherever i run it, it will load up the zdoom.ini settings, and make a new ini (for the user name) using the your zdoom.ini as default. if u need to change it again, updating your controls and such then rename your ini to zdoom.ini. this also works with skulltag (based on zdoom, better multiplayer)

-6GB 2.5" portable HDD (6gb cuz i haxored it out a old laptop)
-(2x) 128MB Custom Flash USB (dad sent me some)
-512MB Sandisk mini cruzer (won at a lan party)
6.768GB of portable fun
