"Integrity Failure Warning" popup after upgrading to v83.0 x64

This issue only occurred on one of my two computers where Firefox Portable is installed, so I'm assuming it was a fluke file corruption or the like. But here is the full popup message:

Integrity Failure Warning: Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition was installed or upgraded without using its installer and some critical files may have been modified. This could cause data loss, personal data left behind on a shared PC, functionality issues, and/or may be a violation of the applications license. Neither the application publisher nor PortableApps.com will be responsible for any issues you encounter. Would you like to start Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition in its current unsupported state?

I clicked No. A second popup followed:

Would you like to visit the Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition homepage to download the app and upgrade your current install?

I clicked No again, backed up my profile sub-directory, and was going to re-launch or re-install, but decided to just report it to the forum here for feedback instead.

How did you upgrade?

Did you upgrade as instructed via the platform or standalone? https://portableapps.com/support/portable_app#upgrading

Short answer: platform

I upgraded via the platform tool (PortableAppsPlatform.exe), as recommended. I always upgrade that way unless the platform tool errs out during a download, but that seldom happens. And nothing unusual occurred when I used it today: I launched the tool, it detected that an upgrade was available, I approved the upgrade, which proceeded without displaying any errors, and ended on the usual confirmation screen.

Scan disk, reinstall

I'd suggest checking the drive for errors. You can then reinstall Firefox over itself manually using the instructions at the link above (this is the same thing the platform does automatically for updates).

More info

I'm not sure what all might have gone wrong during the upgrade, but the following is clear:
\App\Firefox64 is now completely empty.
\App\Firefox is not (with 71 files totaling 154,025,314 bytes), and includes firefox.exe v83.0.0.7621.

So should I just manually download and run the installer? Or what should I do?
