Test Firefox Portable Multiple Instance with URL/HTML Passing

I've put together an updated launcher for Firefox Portable that will allow passing of URLs and HTML files while in Multiple Instance mode. You'll need to set AllowMultipleInstances=true in the FirefoxPortable.ini file copied to the FirefoxPortable directory as usual. Download the ZIP and replace your current FirefoxPortable.exe with this modified version.

Download FirefoxPortableInstanceFix-2021-01-04.zip

Please test it out and let me know how it works.

OK I just tried this and it wasnt working. I overwrote the launcher from the version Im currently still using (67 something) and also overwrote the launcher from the latest version in a different folder (84). I started 67 and it loaded normally as expected. I then started the latest version, 84 and it gave the another instance is currently running error.

INI

Do you have the FirefoxPortable.ini file copied from FirefoxPortable\Other\Source to FirefoxPortable and then configured appropriately? This *only* changes the ability to run the 2nd instance again passing a variable. Everything else remains the same. This launcher only works with the latest version.

I had my .ini file in the same folder, should I move it out of the folder or will it work with it?

I plan on upgrading my v67 to v84 sometime but right now its how Im used to it so would like to run v67 and v84 side by side if possible. Also I didnt try running v84 first then opening v67 after to see if it worked that way yet.

Not What We're Testing

If you can't get two versions working, this update won't help you. This update is only to address the issue of the second instance complaining when you try to pass an HTML/URL in.

So how would I be able to use different versions and not just the latest version only?

Separate Issues

What you're discussing is not addressed by this update. If you're unable to just run two instances, please create a separate forum post and someone can assist you. This is specifically for a patch to allow you to pass in something to a running second instance.
