RSSOwl Portable 2.2.1 Dev Test 1

Application: RSSOwl
Category: Internet
Description: From the publisher's website:
What is RSSOwl?
Applications that collect data from RSS-compliant sites are called RSS readers or "aggregators." RSSOwl is such an application. RSSOwl lets you gather, organize, update, and store information from any compliant source in a convenient, easy to use interface, save selected information in various formats for offline viewing and sharing, and much more. It's easy to configure and the best of all: It's platform-independent.

And what's new in 2.0?
RSSOwl 2.0 is the next major release with a lot of new and exciting features. The idea to work on a completely new RSSOwl was born back in Summer 2005. At that time it became clear to me that it was very hard to catch up with the features of other readers without redesigning everything. I teamed up with another developer (Ismael) to work on RSSOwl 2 from scratch. Our main goal is to provide a newsreader that is powerful, easy to extend and easy to use. We chose the Eclipse Rich Client Platform as framework and db4o as powerful database to store all the news. In combination with the well-known full-text search engine Lucene, we are able to give you the best experience of reading, managing and seeing through all your news.

What is RSS?
RSS ("Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary") is a document specification that gives users the power to collect and organize Web-based news and information in a more efficient manner.

Why "Owl"?
The owl is a traditional symbol of wisdom, and a quiet, efficient hunter. You'll find RSSOwl's "big eyes" a big help when scanning the Web's vast array of RSS sources.

(MD5: 424439451bd0d69dda46dbbd2ec5a065)

Optional: You can use external browsers with RSSOwl, including portable ones. Because of how settings are saved, you may have to update this if paths change. If you don't choose an external browser, the launcher automatically cleans up after the cookies and tempfiles generated when it uses Internet Explorer.

Strange Path?

Could it be a path issue? I'd suggest running it from a path with ANSI characters only and no symbols. Lots of software has issues with that.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Finalizing RSSOwl

As my FeedReader doesn't work with no other feed as the one from here
and my favourite tech site recommends RSSOwl as a very good, lean and quick
rss and podcast reader. And it's multi plattform. I don't know why I used another one.
I would plead to get this version final or release/add the latest stable.
I desperately need to get a calendar, kanban and rssowl tool.
Please see my other threads for more information.
Thanx in advance!

i help where i can! maybe you can help (me) too! see in my account under 'track' for my conservations/threads. be nice!
if you don't want to help, don't post crap!
