Firefox 91 ESR

Just noticed that there's a new Firefox ESR version 91.0 , should be replacing the (rather old) 78 ESR

Read The Link

Please read the link, the answer to your question is explained right there. Firefox Stable 91 and Firefox ESR 91 are the same app just on different channels. If you want the latest Firefox, use the stable channel.

Well, that's the point, I don

Well, that's the point, I don't want the latest version all the time. There's just too many dang updates way too fast, tired of updating seems every week.

Wait

Then you should wait until the middle of the 8 week qualifying period as mentioned in the post, which is what our ESR channel does. That means you'll get 91.x in 4 weeks. That'll mean you won't have to update to 91.0.1 or 91.0.2 along the way, just 91.1.0.

Firefox stable is scheduled for releases every 4 weeks. Point releases in between are bug fixes and security updates. ESR will still update pretty regularly, also with bug and security updates, but about 1/2 as often as stable. That's because it gets no new features/functionality in that timeframe.
