I request, or suggest, that the creation of (root):\TempForPortableApps be done as part of the initial installation.
I just did a complete new download and install of PoratableApps onto a new USB memory stick. Then I asked PoratableApps to download and install LibreOffice. I checked the Paths and saw that Temporary files still pointed to drive "C:". Of course, manually creating the directory (or folder) fixed the problem.
How many new users would know how to do this?
Thank you!
PortableApps 18.0.1 on Windows Windows 10.0 Build 19042
This would not be desired by most users as it will drastically increase the writes to a USB flash drive, decreasing its lifespan. And it will run much more slowly as the system's TEMP will usually be an SSD drive these days, which is much faster.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Understood.
Is there a cleanup done when PortableApps is closed normally?
Apps that use the TEMP directory generally use a contained one that is deleted when the app is closed. This is the default behavior of the PA.c Launcher which is used to create LibreOfficePortable.exe, etc.
