Removed Odd Rant

I removed the odd rant post with the walls of text where the poster didn't understand VirusTotal, false positives, potentially unwanted programs (PUA) etc. They kept posting these multi-paragraph comments for their own purposes for some reason I can't quite discern. Not exactly helpful for us working. Just in case anyone was wondering where that went.

YOU KNEW exactly what you

YOU KNEW exactly what you were doing when you removed a post that was detailing illegal activities you / portableapps is involved in. Of coarse you are going to remove ANYTHING from your own site that shows you getting caught red handed.

Here is the deal tho, MANY of your users SAW YOU DO THAT...in addition, I have access to the entire other net of coarse, and while most sites are just as sold out like you are (hint WOT etc) I still have access to all the important ones on social media that would warn others of how malicious some of the code you host is, AND WHY you are doing it.

So there is always that to remember. In addition...of coarse I can come back here and make a post anytime I wish being a computer expert, and as hard as you try to ban/block & CENSOR (remember how against free speech you were in all of this btw) I will still be here anytime I wish to alert your fan base of what they are engaging in.

Sincerely:

Blair

Just to clarify where I am also at now for your users. I have 7.5Gb of installed PortApps working quite well...where you get 44+gb from with your lying as usual stats though I have little idea, I downloaded about 75% of your stuff, scanning it of coarse multiple times SHOWING YOU WERE AND WHAT I FOUND, and yes you can easily replicate it, yet you KNOW you are doing the dirty and sure want to keep OTHERS away from doing that less you are exposed for EXACTLY what I am hoping to expose you for.

That other site of people just like you libertykey...they are as shady as you are 100%...Both you should surely have ALL your rating exposed on WOT...both very dirty sites to inflict trusted users with malware from sites like IObit which have 100 reports OF TRUE VIRALS found in WOT...and yet still look at their rating, they are just as brutal in this as you...and when the hammer comes down on your for all your thefts in this area, you are going to get exactly what you deserve, which are your assets given to another as you stole them all anyways with your including HOSTING for malicious code...and you have the nerve to accuse someone with as much experience as myself as failing to understand a false positive, you are a real piece of work...you lie to your own family I am sure with just as much ease...you people are pure parasitic. Must be because of how many of them you host.

Repeat of Responses

As a repeat of the responses to before. You accused us of distributing malware in, specifically, Toucan and some ioBit apps among others. I explained at length how we scan every release under the 750MB limit on VirusTotal, which is the industry standard way publishers release software. I explained that VirusTotal is operated by Google and involves scanning in 70+ antivirus engines, including the engine you seem to think is the only one that works, Dr Web. I linked you to the VirusTotal Wikipedia entry for complete details and third party verification of everything I stated. I linked you to the Toucan scan results on VirusTotal showing that the the app was clean save for two false positives in Dr Web and in Jiangmin (a flawed scanner with frequent false positives). I contacted Dr Web directly for an explanation and they told me that "Tool.Encoder" is not a malware detection, but a detection of any app that allows users to encrypt files, one of the primary functions of the open source Toucan tool that we make available. It was explained to you by multiple users that Toucan is an open source app developed by us and that all the source code is available on Github. It was also explained to you what a false positive is.

In relation to the ioBit software, it was explained to you what a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) / Potentially Unwanted Application (PUA) is. It was shown to you that the "malware" you claimed that some IoBit apps are is a PUA detection, meaning that it is not malware, just an app that the user may not want. It was shown to you that Dr Web detects it as "Program.Unwanted" which is the way they show PUP/PUA applications.

You ignored all of this and continued to rant about Dr Web being the only antivirus that mattered and that we distributed malware with lots of capital letters for emphasis. Multiple users and developers as well as myself pointed out that you were incorrect, but at each point, you ignored every link and factual explanation presented to you. And then continued to talk down to volunteers who work on open source software for free and personally insult them.

Here, you have continued the personal insults and demonstrably incorrect statements. As well as in the multiple ranting emails you sent to us. You somehow claim that Emsisoft also shows our "evil" ways, despite that fact that Emsisoft correctly shows IoBit Unlocker, IoBit Uninstaller, Smart Defrag, and Toucan correctly as clean. You also somehow claim that our 44GB+ statement about our apps is "your lying as usual" despite the fact that you also say you've only installed 75% of them and it being easily provable that it's correct by installing everything. Here's a screenshot showing 45.5GB used on a drive with the PA.c Platform and all available apps installed, without running any of them so there's no user data. It's also worth pointing out that Emsisoft is one of our software partners, something we negotiated permission with them to do.

As for your claims of being "CENSORED" in all caps, you've been violating multiple site/forum guidelines. The guidelines are publicly available and you agreed to them when you signed up. You've violated the Be Polite and Patient, Check Support Before Posting, No Bumping, One Account Per Person, and Play Nice guidelines multiple times. As such, your previous walls of text were removed and your second account also deactivated.

If you decide to post about this elsewhere, please link to this post as well. And please take the time to read everything linked above so you can understand what VirusTotal is and how it works, what false positives are, what PUP/PUAs are, etc. Thank you.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
