[Fixed] µTorrent (sometimes) leaves folder behind

Hi,
I've been doing somes cleaning on my windows7 PC and came across what I now know as some µTorrent leftovers.
After cleaning up everything, I installed the latest version of uTorrentPortable (3.5.5.46148) then started it and then closed it...
Folder "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\uTorrent" was still present, containing one file. I checked the launcher.ini file and I understand it should have been deleted along with its content...
The other files created at runtime are deleted but one won't preventing I guess the deletion of the folder.
I've done several tests and sometimes it's deleted, sometimes not. I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact condition that causes the problem, it feels like there's some kind of lock on the file when the deletion is attempted.
Has anyone else come across that situation ?
Is there a way aound it ?

Antivirus

Which antivirus are you using? They can sometimes lock files. It works without issue whether downloading a torrent or not in my Windows 7 virtual machine.

µTorrent (sometimes) leaves folder behind

Hi ! Thank you for your reply.
Before posting I did do some tests, with 2 different W7 virtual machines and my real one (also W7).
I hadn't thought about the antivirus because the file is only 16kb.
So this morning I tried again, without Kaspersky Antivirus : same problem !
What I do: I start uTorrentPortable and just let the app open, no download, no upload, nothing !
A few minutes later I quit and sometimes one of the files (and folder) isn't deleted.
The file is linked to a uTorrentPortable\App\uTorrent\updates\3.5.5_46148\utorrentie.exe process.
When I quit uTorrent, one of the instance of this process seems to stay alive a bit longer... longer it would seem than the launcher.
This isn't a big issue but it's the only app from PortableApps.com I use that has this kind of problem.
I hope you find a solution.

Try This

Explore to uTorrentPortable\App\AppInfo\Launcher and open up the file uTorrentPortable.ini. In the first [Launch] section, just below the line SupportsUNC=yes, add this line:

WaitForEXE1=utorrentie.exe

Save it and then run uTorrent. That should take care of it. Please let me know and I'll push out a revision.

Good news

Adding the key "WaitForEXE1=utorrentie.exe" had indeed some effect on the visual sequence of the files (and folders) deletion.
After quite a lot of testing I was unable to reproduce the initial problem so I guess that fixed it.
Thank you for your help and the very good work.
Regards.
Daniel
