Has anyone gotten Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html to work from a USB drive?
Some work has been done to get it to work from a bootable CD but has thus far been unsuccessful.

It's a little bit strange in that you don't run an executable, you actually run a DLL with the following command:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Belarc\Advisor\System\NPBelv32.dll,RunDll32_ShowLocalPage -p60 -bAdvisor.bcx
When I run it from the USB drive I get a message like this:
Belarc Advisor: Template file problem: \System\siteDefaultSummary.html contains an invalid path
and
Belarc Advisor: Temporary file problem: \System\tmp\(machinename).html contains an invalid path.
Maybe someone smarter than me will have better luck..
I actually played around with Belarc a bit. I went so far as to change the templates it complained of, as it had to do with how the templates need hard coded absolute paths. Changing the HTML code to relative, did not work. In the end nothing I tried worked.
I am still looking into it, but it is now on the backburner for me.

So, any luck getting it to work?
