Paint Shop Pro isn't Opensource so there won't be an official PortableApps version of that program. Maybe you'll find a version from someone who made it on Google or you use GIMP which is available from this site.

Simeon pointed out GIMP to you, which is a Linux-native app that's been ported to Windows some years back. This is a "comparable program", as you requested.
However, it's also a tad balky for us Windows users, due to its quirky interface.
For better compatibility w/ PSP, try looking for a version of GIMP known as "GimpShop", which is GIMP packaged in a wrapper to more closely mimic the interface of Windows Photoshop/PSP-type apps.
Bon appetit.

However, over at PortaSoft.org we made a portable version of Adobe PhotoShop, however due to trademark restrictions, we had to delete it.
However, if you have Photoshop, I/Deuce (?) can send you a copy of the launcher.

Person 2: What?
Person 1: I can't remember, I've forgotten.

It may've been said before, but GIMPshop is a better implementation for those of us who are offput by GIMP's quirky interface.
Only, what I unfortunately *neglected* to say before was that GimpShop is ALSO portable.
As to Photoshop launcher, how can I get it from you?
I have a version of Photoshop 5 LE that I got as part of a promotion - will your launcher work w/ that?...

It's for Photoshop 7, however, it might work.

Anyway, AFAIK, GIMPshop is unmaintained, as we were going to do a version.

I looked at doing it, but the instructions that they gave for compilation didn't work, I might look at it again though over the summer (June time), as I would love to be able to get it to work.
1) Okay, I'll mail you at cubegames[at]gmail.com, but first, pray tell - how big is this package? I'm one of them "dialup dinosaurs", and can't download large files very well (at least, not ones that are e-mail attachments).
2) "unmaintained"?...
D'you mean that it has to be an active (meaning, "maintained", presumably) project to be able to do a PA version of it?

@Steve Lamerton
What "doing it" did you look at?
D'you mean you looked at *trying out* Gimpshop?...
If so, there's no need to compile, as it already comes in a Windows flavor (if not, then plz Xplain what it is you "looked at" doing).

For those of you who don't like Gimp's interface, have a look a the developer builds of 2.4! The latest version is 2.3.14. I have been using 2.3.11 for quite a while now and IHMO the user interface has been cleaned up considerably. It is considered unstable, but I haven't had any problems. Just copy it in over a GimpPA build and it should work. Thats what I did with 2.3.11. Been going to do 2.3.14, but got lazy.

You can simply use GIMP Portable.

when I looked at it, it was so far behind GIMP releases that I looked at compiling it against the latest version of GIMP, but it didn't work.
