LibreOffice Still 7.2.5.2 - ~PRESERVEDIRECTORY2

I just updated my LibreOffice Portable (Still version) MultilingualStandard and at the end of the 'install' there is a directory left behind titled ~PRESERVEDIRECTORY2. The directory contents is 92.3 MB in size and it contains 1,833 files.

What is this directory?

Is it safe to delete it?

Why was it put there in the first place?

App\libreoffice\share\config

That's the contents of App\libreoffice\share\config, preserved from your previous install for the occasion when you customized something in there. If you didn't, you can delete it. If you did, you can move the files from LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice\share\config to ~PRESERVEDIRECTORY2, replacing anything that's there, then move all the files in ~PRESERVEDIRECTORY2 back to the config directory and delete ~PRESERVEDIRECTORY2.

To be safe, backup before you do this. And compare the two directories to make sure they have similar files first.

This was left because something interfered with the move operation during install. Usually either a slow antivirus/antimalware scanner or a drive error.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Didn't Customise in There -- So Just Deleted Folder

Thanks for the reply, John. I didn't customise anything in there so just deleted the folder then did a re-install anyway. Everything seems fine at that.

Don't run virus software in the background, on-demand ClamWin Portable is what I use and I am scrupulous in scanning downloaded files. Drive is SSD and only 7 months old so shouldn't be any problems with that (touch wood!).

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.
