Description: I'm running a Samba server on a DDWRT router. I'm not running anything unusual (that I'm aware of). I've installed other apps to the network share to confirm proper read-write behavior and functionality. The apps and games I've installed all seem to function correctly. Albeit there was a weird error when I installed JDownloader where I was told it could not create RIGHTS (which I assume is a folder permissions change based on the dialog).
DDWRT Samba settings:
Min proc: SMB 2.10
Max proc: SMB 3.11
Encryption required
Share: Read/Write access. Public
Here is a list of errors I get with PA.
1. The dialog is invisible. I am unable to read the GUI text unless I highlight sections of it with my mouse cursor.
2. Everytime I launch the program it is as if it is being opened for the first time.
3. All apps are sorted under OTHER. The program appears to have problems with reading the INF files. Regardless if these are existing functional apps or installed fresh from the app store, they are filed under OTHER. Once the PA installed is relocated locally the program functions just fine.
4. All apps have the following error: "PAF Error - Missing Name" when highlighting an app. After selecting an app, a new error appears: "Could Not Find \PAF Error - Missing Start."
I can only guess this is a traverse problem or PA needs permission higher than Write in order to function on a Samba share. These are only my guesses however as I'm not well versed running custom scripts or doing advanced diagnostics on Samba in DDWRT environment. Are there any other fellow weary travelers who are running PA from DDWRT that have ran into this problem or can point me in a direction to fix whatever is going on here?

Do you have it mapped to a drive letter? All the errors you are seeing occur when the platform is unable to write to its current location. Also, how is the Samba share accessed within Explorer? NTFS shares work, but I've never used, tested, or even encountered a Samba share in the real world.

Yes, it's mapped as Z: on a Win10 Pro machine. I have Write access (create folder and file, delete folder and file) to the mapped drive. I can do the same navigating to the network location (UNC pathing). I'm not sure what you mean by "how is the Samba share accessed". Within DDWRT you can create Public access which allows anyone in or use UserList which allows you to manually create userIDs and PWs. It doesn't use your Windows local or MS (@) login as credentials.
How are you launching the PA.c Platform? Opening Explorer to your Z drive and running Start.exe?

Does it work if you temporarily install to your Desktop directory a fresh platform on the same machine?
I haven't tested network share compatibility in a while. I'll look into that, too.

It works just fine on local disk as I pointed out in my original comment. It works when I install to a secondary disk (drive E:). It works with a flashdrive. It works when I map a network share to a local disk. It works when I upload it to Google Drive and run it in either Offline Mode or Mirror (albiet the constant traffic does make my local network sluggish and can cause random disconnects). When I installed it to the Samba server (fresh install Win machine to network share) or attempt to run a functioning copy on flashdrive from the Samba server I have all the above problem (plugging the USB to back of router and running Start.exe from network share).
