I recently had an error with my PA version of uTorrent.
In attempting to resolve the problem
- I uninstalled the app using the PA interface and then installed it again using the PA Ui to get the latest version. The app displayed that it successfully installed but it never displayed in the PA UI. In checking the directory it contained only one folder, "App" with nothing in it.
- Rebooted the PC and then
- Deleted the uTorrent folder in the PA directory and installed it again using the PA Ui to get the latest version. This ended the same as above but three folders were created in the uTorrent folder, I deleted the entire uTorrent folder
- I then downloaded the uTorrent PAF file and attempted a "install a new App" from the PA UI. This ended in exactly the same failure.
Is there something I am missing in installing this or do we have a bad package?

Forget about that dog uTorrent. Give Tixati Portable a whirl for a month. I doubt you'll go back to uTorrent after that.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.
Your antivirus is blocking it. uTorrent has some false positive issues. It's likely getting blocked/deleted during the online installer's run.

I can confirm that µtorrent in the current version 3.5.5.46200 does also not install propperly. The secondary loaded installer does cause a virus alert and that installer is blocked. My Virus Software is from Avira
That's an issue between Avira and uTorrent itself. You can ask Avira to stop listing it or you can whitelist it. There's nothing we can do on our end.
