Why Chrome Browser is evil Thread

Once upon a time Google (now Alphabet) stated: Don't be evil.

...

Now, they have become a scannerware...
In the name of security, they are scanning your hardware by multiple ways.
Not only that, the browser scanns your system by all installed software.
Sending this information encrypted to their base.

Just think of it... why can't I just get my portable Chrome on a USB-stick to
another computer and go along with it, and continue to work?

Well, Chrome states to you, that is for your security, but it is not! It is a bypass!
It is gathering the most information that it can get about the system that is actually being
used upon and sends it to the homebase. Even in John's portable version.

Thanks John, I use it alldays.

Just want to mention and initiate a thread.

Thanks and Greetings!

Iron is Stainless

Iron is a great Open Source Clone & Alternative. Just try it if you were used to Google's browser!

Is the Chrome scanning automatic or on-demand?

Is the Chrome scanning automatic or on-demand? How did you access this function?

If it's on-demand, it's a feature, it's automatic, it's creepy.

It is automatic.

At the very first of the moment you start it...
It is gathering all, or the most information it can get on your system, called SystemID. and sends it to its warehouse...

This is not new, it is old behaviour.
What makes this evil, is that they have optimized "in their way" this process to a a even hardware level, that has never seen before.

I really like some Google Products, but I am also aware of Google not beeing "Don't be evil" Product Policy.

Device Fingerprinting & Chrome Cleanup tool

Ah, not surprised Google Chrome does it.

I thought you were referring to the on-demand clean up tool in Google Chrome through chrome://settings/cleanup

How to explain?
This is just the process.
Get hands on some snorkeling processes.
This is just so easy

This is not the right place to discuss this.
John had this discussion years ago in the portable freeware forum.
