no information for updated apps

Hi!

None of my PortableApps will be updated. I get no notification.

My PortableApps-folder is located in a subfolder of a portable version of TotalCommander. The PA-Launcher is located in ..\tc\pApps and the apps in ..tc\pApps\PortableApps starting with "PortA." followed by the AppName. There is a mix of PA-Apps and other "normal" portable apps. All of them are shown in the PA-Menu. Of course there is no way for the PA-Launcher to check for updates for my other portable apps. But why I did not receive update notifications for the other PA-apps? How does the mechanism works?

Today I received a message after a "check for updates" only for "PortableApps.com Installer". But there are definitly other updates available.

Regards

Location and Name

The PortableApps.com Platform will only update apps within its PortableApps directory that match the name of the original AppIDs. The platform must be laid out as follows:

Base Directory (which contains Start.exe)
- PortableApps
- - PortableApps.com (this contains PortableAppsPlatform.exe etc)
- - FirefoxPortable
- - GoogleChromePortable
- - etc

If any of the apps are in renamed directories or the layout deviates from this, the updater and app store will not function properly.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Thanks for the quick answer. After renaming the app directories the update notification works again.
I did the renaming for a better visibility of PA-apps and other portable apps. It would be nice to be more flexible in the naming of the directories for PA-apps, but this is (my) luxury problem. Maybe you have the time one fine day... Wink
And thanks for the great work!

Rename Others

Depending on the number of apps, renaming your other apps either with an underscore as the first character so they all appear at the top or a zz so they all appear at the bottom could be helpful in your specific case.
