Mozilla Update very slow and impossible to download

Hi.
for some reason, the Mozilla products update takes forever and it's impossible to finish, forcing me to cancel the update. This happens still 2 weeks, for Thunderbird and for Firefox. I have a 100MB internet cable connection, but this downloads goes 30B/s....

SourceForge Mirror

It's likely your SourceForge mirror is slow where you are. We use their mirror network for open source downloads within the platform. Please try to download Thunderbird Portable 102 in your browser and let us know which download server is being used.

I've still updated Firefox and Thunderbird, but PortableApps insists in update itself again.

App vs Portable App

If you use the built in updater, you're only updating either the 32-bit or 64-bit copy of Firefox itself within the app. You're not updating Firefox Portable (both copies of Firefox plus the FirefoxPortable.exe launcher). The PA.c Platform only checks if the full Firefox Portable package is up to date, not the individual copies of Firefox within.

Yes, I understand perfectly.

Yes, I understand perfectly. Occurs that the Firefox program updates itself automatically. And the PortableApps launcher wants to run a second update, and this one is impossible to proceed, due to be extremly slow.

Solved: uninstalled

Solved: uninstalled PortableApps. Deleted everything referent PortableApps program. New download, new installation, now on the root of External Drive. It founds all installed applications, updated and was able to download the Firefox in 10 minutes, and not in 5 hours as before. Now I'm updating Thunderbird. So, issue eliminated. Thanks.

Firefox ok. Thunderbird nope.

As I sad, PortableApps Update service is unable to download the new Thunderbird version. It is trying to download at a speed of 10.6KB/s (3 hours remaining) and this is everyday the same. After 10m I get an error message - unable to complete the download. The app is updated itself when I select the "about" option - so Thunderbird is still at 102.0.2 version. Only in PortableApps this version is not able to download.

Manual updates using pick .paf file through PA.c platform

Sometimes, I do get slow download speeds, that is measured in hours, while updating using the PortableApps Update service. The 3 most often encountered such apps, for me, are Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird and calibre.

What I will then do is.

a) download the slow download speed *.paf manually using browser
b) use the Apps > Install a New App (.paf.exe) function, and choose the downloaded file from ( a)
c) PA.c will upgrade my app as if it was

( a) usually at speeds, which are faster and / or more bearable than using the PortableApps Update service.

SourceForge vs our paid server

For those apps, they're coming from SourceForge via the platform. When downloading from the website, you're download from our paid download server.

There is a difference, learnt something new

Thanks for shedding light on the difference between how the platform updates versus a manual download from PA.c website and update. Learnt something new.
