Hello all,
I want to switch to portable apps as much as possible. I installed FF portable and defined it as the standard browser.
I Use Keepassxc portable ant when I try to open a URL it opens a new firefox instead of my configures FF potable. .
In the Windows Configuration Apps - Standard Apps I found 2 entries for firefox and a search from the start menu finds 2 firefoxes :
Mozilla Firefox, portable edition in C:\...\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.exe
firefox.exe in C:\...\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox64
I presume that this leads to some confusion.
What is the best way to handle this situation ?
You need to manually create an association for FirefoxPortable.exe using a third party utility. If you associate within Firefox, it will associate firefox.exe, which will be run in local mode. Since Firefox isn't installed locally, it starts with a blank profile.

That would be nice !
Eve if you can not I want to thank you and the team for the great work ! I goes a long way to tame the computer !
Many thanks and best regards,

You're welcome!
One option would be to just use a .reg file. I know this one has been used by folks before but I haven't checked it out myself: https://github.com/clemthi/firefox-portable-default-browser

I used this one https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/register-firefox-portable-with-defaul... and it woks fine. They have a similar solution for Thunderbird.
Many thanks and best regards,
