Not Supported

This is not supported at present. And I can't really figure out why it would be desired.

Don't Know if This Will Work for You But it Might Yield a Clue

You could, of course, post your query at that KeePass Forum anyway.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.

Tried This — It Works Fine With Portables From the Parent Site

I just downloaded and tried running Keepass 2.x (what you are calling "KeePass Pro") and KeePass 1.x (what you are calling "KeePass Classic") simultaneously. Works fine for me. That said I'm using the portable versions as supplied by KeePass parent site: https://keepass.info/download.html

I fail to see why you want to use the PortableApps offering of KeePass when KeePass is offered as a portable at the parent site. Don't get my wrong, PortableApps are good where there is no alternative but portables are often available from parent sites and, given the choice, I would always use the parent site offering if available provided the parent site offering is truly portable — not writing into the registry or into APPDATA folders and so on. In the case of KeePass it is truly portable.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.

Reasons

There are many reasons for it but the main one is convenience. Clicking a button to update in the PA.c Platform is far easier than going to download the zip from the publisher site, figuring out what you need to keep vs delete to update, unzipping it, going back to the publisher site and seeing if there is an updated language pack (KeePass doesn't include them), downloading and unzipping that to the appropriate location, etc. Additionally, the data structures are the same for easy backups. And things like the recently used and last opened files work as you move PCs or sync the cloud folder between PCs because the KeePassPortable.exe launcher adjusts them. Remember, not everyone will be using English and only using it on a single PC.

Keepass pro and classic

Thank you all for your reply.

I using both for separation of my password, classic for anything related to my banking, tax and others account that I rarely open. Pro is for less important and uses ofthen, such as email and so on.

@Abraxian, yes it works if i am using the portable version from keepass web. Thank you.

Different databases

One app & several databases is a much better solution IMO.

Use One Instance and Just Have it Open Two Databases

You should know that KeePass 2.x (what you call "KeePass Pro") can open two password databases at the same time. Just open your usual database and if you want to open the less used database then just go File > Open or, if you have in the past had both databases open at the same time go File > Open Recent The two databases will be shown as separate tabs in your KeePass.

If you don't want to have the databases in separate tabs then you can have each database open in its own separate instance of KeePass 2.x. If you want this to happen look in Tools > Options... > Advanced (tab) and untick the setting "Limit to single instance". Just toy with that setting and you will soon see how it works.

KeePass 1.x (what you call "KeePass Classic") cannot do the 'tabbed' option above. 2.x is the better implementation of KeePass anyway.

I make my comments above in using KeePass 2.x from the parent website. If you fiddle with the Limit to single instance setting in PortableApps implementation of KeePass 2.x you might manage to get two instances of KeePass 2.x running at the same time — just experiment and see.Though remember to make backup copies of your database files before doing any experiments.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.

Two Instances Works with PortableApps Implementation of KeePass

Out of curiosity I just downloaded and tested running two instances of KeePass 2.x using the PortableApps offering. If I untick the Limit to single instance then it is possible to run two instances of KeePass 2.x each with a separate database open.

Use Portable Apps on both Flash Drive and HDD/SSD.
