I want to install PortableApps.com on a USB drive, but I use MacOS Ventura. All instructions I have seen are for Windows and other platforms, NOT for Mac.
I am NOT trying to download PortableApps.com on my Mac; I am trying to download it on a USB drive using my Macbook.
How do I go about doing that?
Thanks for your help!
If you plan to add files created for Windows systems to your USB drive then you need to:
- Download the package for Windows
- Extract the executable (.exe) into a new folder using software such as 7-Zip
- Delete unnecessary folders with a $ in front of the name
- Copy the previous extracted contents to the new folder on your USB drive
Thanks very much for the help! I have dequarantine the image and I am now trying to install PA.c, but I got an error message saying, "Error opening file for writing." I have NO idea what to do from here.
I cannot find here how to upload a screenshot.

The error appears on the Windows version (.exe) (then the compression software) or Mac version (.dmg)?
To upload the image you can use a service such as https://imgur.com/
The package for Windows (.exe) must be extracted and not run.
Try using 7-Zip from the command line as indicated here: https://superuser.com/a/1622154
Before carrying out this procedure, save the setup (.exe) in an empty folder. This is because the content will be extracted externally.
1) sudo port install p7zip
2) Place the setup in an empty folder
3) Open the terminal in the folder where the setup is
4) 7z x PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_26.0.paf.exe
In this case it could be a bug, I am not involved in developing such software. May I suggest that you open a topic in the "macOS and Wine Support".
Thanks very much, SimonGreek! The error problem is resolved. Now that I have the PortableApps.com platform on my MacBook. Please, could you tell me how to transfer it to a USB flash drive? And, when I transfer it, can I uninstall it from the MacBook, or does it needs to be there?

Read the section "Removing Quarantine To Fix The Package Error" indicated here.
This guide explains how to copy files to a USB drive.
About the last question, it depends on your needs. You can use the platform via an external drive or have the same copy on your Mac. You don't need to have a copy on your Mac for the platform to work on a external drive.
