Can't download updates

Hi Team...

I am having problems downloading recent apps updates. The ones that are automatically shown on PA startup as having an update available are:

Calibre 2.26.0
Opera 102.0.4880.40
μTorrent 3.6.0.46896

When I start the automatic updates I get:

for Calibre:

Download Error: File Not Found (404) on file https://portableapps.com/redirect/?s=p&a=calibrePortable&d=sfpa&wv=11&f=...

...and for the other two apps:

The downloaded copy of 'xxxxxx' is not valid and can not be installed. This could be due to an incomplete download or other network issue. Please try running the updater again when complete.

I have run the updater a number of times over the last few days to no avail. I have also run the updater without my Comodo Antivirus software but still no joy. I am running Win11 and have recently has the PA software updated too (to 26.1). Hope that you can help or point me to a possible cause.

Kindest regards
Charles

Fixed

Calibre hadn't uploaded successfully to SourceForge. It has been and mirrored now. Opera's hash was incorrect and has been fixed. uTorrent works without issue for me from both the PA.c Platform and when running the live installer directly. Please try that again.

Responding to your recent post...

Thnx for this info! Calibre and Opera have both been updated successfully. Not so μTorrent. I get this message when I tried to update it:

The downloaded copy of μTorrent (https://github.com/PortableApps/Downloads/releases/downloaded/download/μTorrent_3.6.0.46896.exe) is not valid and can not be installed. This could be due to an incomplete downlaod or other network issue. Please try running the updater again when complete.

Can you pls check?

Kind Regards
Charles

Fine Here

I just installed uTorrent without issue via the platform. Anything on your end that could interfere with github downloads? The files are there and the hashes are correct.

Hi John...

Hi John...

Thnx for your help! I removed my existing uTorrent installation and downloaded the latest from the PA directory. Tried to install it via the Apps > Install new app (paf.exe) and I got the pop-up: 'The downloaded copy of uTorrent is not valid and can not be installed. Please try reinstalling again.'

The installation info shows:

Output folder: E:\...Portable Apps\PortableApps\uTorrentPortable C:\Users\CHARLE~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nsd9D1F.tmp\Downloaded\uTorrent.exe
Create folder: C:\Users\CHARLE~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nsjnsd9D1F.tmp\Downloaded
Downloading uTorrent...
Installing uTorrent Portable...
Rename: C:\Users\CHARLE~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nsd9D1F.tmp\Downloaded\uTorrent->C:\Users\CHARLE~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nsd9D1F.tmp\Downloaded\uTorrent.exe
Delete file: C:\Users\CHARLE~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nsd9D1F.tmp\Downloaded\uTorrent.exe
The downloaded copy of uTorrent is not valid and can not be installed. Please try reinstalling again.

At this point I clicked OK on the pop-up. The installer window looked like it's still running and shows:
Installation Aborted
Setup was not completed successfully

I then hit the Cancel button to close this window.

I had exited my Comodo antivirus before running this installation (a number of times).

Given how much time this has taken me (and you) I've decided to not use uTorrent and use qBittorent (4.5.5) instead.

I hope the above might provide some inkling as to what might be happening!

Thnx so much for your help!!

Kindest Regards
Charles
