Keepass Pro

I need to install the "QuickSearch" plugin so I have down loaded the appropriate plugin file (QuickSearch.plgx) and put it in the
(G:\PortableApps\KeePassProPortable\App\KeePassPro\Plugins) directory on the flash disk.

However, while I can see the plugin via the "Tools->Plugins" menu it does not appear on the app at runtime (should be beside the general
search box).

Any ideas ???

I have to use Keyepass v2 as it has to access an existing v2 database on a server.

Regards, Dave

Working here!

Working here!
You may need to test on a fresh installation.

PS. What do you mean by V2? KeePass 2.x AKA KeePass Professional is the one you're using!

Yes KeePass PRO

This *IS* a fresh install of PortableApps + Keepass Pro on a newly formatted flash stick. Can't get much fresher than that!

Different Environments.

I've tested on a Win 7 x64 machine. Try making tests somewhere else, different computers & OSes.

PS. Also, give details about your sick OS/Computer, and about the ones where it will (theoretically) work.

Also Working Here

It's working just fine here on Windows 10 Pro 19045.3448.

Can you give us more details please softfoot? Like OS version, 32 or 64-bit, any antivirus that might be running, etc? Also what version of KeePass Pro Portable are you using and are you using the latest QuickSearch plugin (2018 compatibility fix for 2.40)?

More info ...

QuickSearch plugin works correctly if Keepass is installed normally on the same machine (Win 7 Pro 64bit)

Lets be clear, it is QuickSearch that is not working under PortableApps--- KeePass is OK.

I have now tried it on 3 other different machines (Win 7 Pro 64bit and Win 10 Pro 64bit) and in all cases the QuickSearch plugin does not display.

It is visible via the "Tools->Plugins" menu but even after a restart the QuickSearch box does not appear beside the general search box.

I downloaded the latest (2018 compatibility fix for 2.40) and it shows as version 2.30 when looking at "Tools->Plugins" which seems OK

After Fresh Install

Since it is working under both Windows 7 and Windows 10 for others, there may be something specific in your setup. Please try and download a fresh copy of the current KeePass Portable from our website directly. Now make a temporary fresh install of KeePass Portable to your Desktop directory in English. Don't start the app. Download the latest QuickSearch from here and place the file QuickSearch.plgx within . Now run KeePassPortable.exe. You should see QuickSearch in the toolbar just like I do on my Windows 10 machine in the screenshot linked.

Please try this first and then we'll troubleshoot further to see what could be causing your issue.

After more tests

Keepass is already installed on every machine I have ( Win 7 and Win 10) and works flawlessly (including QuickSearch) but I de-installed it from one of the Win 10 systems and did a clean install of Keepass and QuickSearch and QuickSearch worked OK.

I got a new, clean flash stick, installed the latest PortableApps, then Keepass and QuickSearch. When I plugged the flash drive into each of the above machine and started Portable apps QuickSearch failed to appear.

I wandered around all my systems trying the flash drive and had the same result.

Then, suddenly it started to work, I dont know what I did, but it works as expected ever since.

A real mystery!!

Thanks all, anyway,
Dave
