I want to know why the installer of Irfanview installs both the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions of the program.
The develeper of Irfanview has updated a few plugins without changing the version number of the program.
Two format plugins contains security fixes, which is important especially for the WebP format.

It's a dual mode app so users on either 32-bit or 64-bit it works for, especially for folks who move between PCs with a flash drive/external drive or sync their cloud folder between, say, Windows 7 32-bit and Windows 10 64-bit. Eventually, folks will be able to choose only 64-bit if that's all they use, but I'm mostly the only one developing and not making enough to support myself, so there is no timeline.
I just checked the Irfanview installers and they are still the ones from December. The plugin zip downloads are the same ones we have included in our build. What did you see that was changed?

I thought it would be the way: The Portable Apps Installer checks whether Windows is 32 or 64 bit version and then installs only one version of the app, not both.
And for me as user of 64 bit Windows it's not transparent what version the app starter will run, the 32 or 64 bit version.
You can find the newest plugins of Irfanview on the plugins page under the section:

The dual mode apps are automatic. They run the 32-bit version when running under 32-bit Windows and the 64-bit version when running under 64-bit Windows.

I released an updated version of the app called 4.62 Plugin Update 1 with the patched versions of WebP and 4 other plugins.

The other point I mentioned. I deleted the subfolder 'App\IrfanView' but kept the folder 'App\IrfanView64'.
The programm does run on my Windows 64 flawlessly. For what purpose is the folder and it's content, I deleted, needed in first place?
That's the 32-bit version so IrfanView Portable works on all versions of Windows
