FF ESR 115.x vs. FF Legacy 115.x -- Difference?

I'm running Win7 with FF ESR 115.3.1 portable and wondering what's the difference between that and FF Legacy 115.x?

Thanks, John.

Legacy is for Windows 7/8

ESR is a channel that's continually updated for testing of websites and extensions and stuff and updates to the next jumped ESR version midway through the overlap time period when both the old and new ESR releases are available. It's 64-bit, available in a handful or languages, and not intended as a 'daily driver'. The Legacy 115 channel will end with the last release of 115 next year and is designed for Windows 7/8 users as it's the last version that will work on those unsupported OSes.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

So at this point in time,

So at this point in time, there is not much difference, but when ESR moves away from 115 in September, then legacy will be frozen to the latest 115
build and from then on ESR and Legacy won't be using the same base?
I tried (and hated) Win 10/11, so it looks like I'll be stuck with Win 8.1/Firefox 115 for a while, which is fine by me as long as it works.
