[Closed] Updating PortableApps-Plattform deletes my favorites (like notepad++, filezille, ..)

Hi there,

updating the plattform allways kills my favorites which i set in the launcher. these favorites are f.e. notepad++ or filezilla.

is there a setting-file for the plattform itself so i can do a backup before updating the plattform?

i do NOT mean the favorites of portable browsers like firefox or others. just the favorites of the plattform itself.

thanks

More Details

Would you please provide some additional details like "system details (OS version, 32 vs 64-bit), install path, etc."? Are you upgrading directly within the PA.c Platform or downloading the installer and upgrading manually? I can't reproduce this on my end.

Windows 11, 64 Bit. upgrading

Windows 11, 64 Bit. upgrading directly within the plattform. D:\_Programmsammler\ProtableApps.com. the favorites must be saved anywhere. i cant find any config or ini-file for the plattform. can you told me where the settings are saved?

It's in the PortableAppsMenu

It's in the PortableAppsMenu.ini in \PortableApps.com\Data\. AFAIK, this ini is backed up with the other settings, when you make a data backup in the PAc-Menu,

Need a Pick

Maybe the file is locked or write-protected

Solved: PortableAppsMenu.ini was corrupt

There was a kind of "hex-code" at the beginning and the end of PortableAppsMenu.ini. i renamed "D:\_Programmsammler\ProtableApps.com" to "D:\_Programmsammler\ProtableApps.com (old)" and did a complete new setup to "D:\_Programmsammler\ProtableApps.com".

marked notepad++ as favorite created a correct entry in the (new) PortableAppsMenu.ini.

[AppsFavorite]
notepad++portable\notepad++portable.exe=1

so i just copied my apps to the new directory (and will delete the old one).

Thanks to all of you for your help Smile
