CudaText

https://cudatext.github.io/
Pros: Opensourced (developed using Lazarus) under MPL-2.0 license, similar to Geany but with better large file / unicode text support, seems very easy to make portable.
Cons (maybe): Updates very frequently (once or twice a month).

Open Source Equivalent of Sublime Text

It is a great text editor.
Very similar to Sublime Text with great features and plug in's.

The plug in's require some configuration in the context of PortableApps.

Hear, hear! CudaText should be a PortableApp.

It's an extremely performant text editor/IDE with a great plugin ecosystem and friendly, responsive developer. I'd ditch Notepad++ from my PApps volume in a heartbeat if CudaText became available to take its place. While true that it sees a more uptempo release schedule that the average open source project, they are mostly drop-in replacements related to updates to the Python modules which power the plugins; the control surfaces and application behavior is remarkably stable.
