Try as I might I cannot find the cache files (temp files anc cache01/02/03 etc) on the U3 stick for FF. I can find history.dat in the profile folders no problem.
Someone point me in the right direction? I assume that it does not store them on the host PC?
Thanks

Have you turned the cache on in Firefox?

The normal FF has its cache in the ram. I dont know about U3, but I think its the same.

Normal FF has its cache (ie temp files) stored in this location
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\PROFILE.default\Cache\ or similar.
Here you find files such as _CACHE_001_ _CACHE_002_ _CACHE_003_ _CACHE_MAP_ as well as tons of randomly named files which are the Internet temp files its creates.
I cannot find an equivelent path for U3 version of FF.
The history.dat file which stores the pages visited history is located with normal FF in C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\PROFILE.default\
I have found the equivelent in U3 FF at I:\System\Apps\3C9F7B3F-D55C-42cd-8537-B878518B73AF\Data\profile where I is my U3 Stick.
I meant Portable Firefox (normal = non-U3).

Like FFP, FF4U3 does not use a disk cache.
This is to save wear and tear on the drive.
If you turn it on in Tool-Options-Advanced-Network
it will create cache folders under your profile as stated above:
"patthto" \FirefoxPortable2002\Data\profile\Cache
In your case:
I:\System\Apps\3C9F7B3F-D55C-42cd-8537-B878518B73AF\Data\profile\Cache
It is not recommended for flash drives.

Tim,
Just the reply I was hoping for.
Many Thanks
