I would like to see a portable and lite version of FreeNX Windows client. I use FreeNX to connect to all of servers and manage them. Would be sweet to have that on the portable apps menu.

Here's the portable version of NxClient for windows

bump..
I would love to have this as well. I've been looking for a good solution for a long time. I have lots of windows computers that I work on that I don't want to install NX, but I need a secure way of accessing my computer or my servers, and NX fits the bill perfectly because of it's security and it's efficiency in low bandwidth situations.
http://www.nomachine.com/download.php then I'll have a look.

I like "I Don't Like Mondays - The Boomtown Rats" as well. But now I have Time After Time, Everlasting Love and I luv U Baby" stuck in my Head. Its just like Can't Get You Out Of My Head by kylie.
Anyway, sorry about the wrong link. Is FreeNX open source? for John to be able to make it portable?

qsclient has the option to download an nx client, that seems somewhat portable.
Would love to see this done "properly" though...

I haven't had a proper look at the package yet.
Do you know the story behind "I Don't Like Mondays" (see Wikipedia if you don't)?

a sad story it is. Here in the UK at school, a genral knowledge quiz is due to be published. I had a look and it asks us to summarize the story.

I do like to see NXClient portable as well (as portible suite). Hope someone can help. Thanks.
I really would love this. I also work a lot at the University and would like to be able to term back home off my usb key, as the school computers are locked down for no installations.
That would be a brilliant addition to portableapps. I have used VNC/tightVNC in the past but NX works so much better in my opinion. Hopefully it's possible and not too difficult.
Just go to desktopondemand.com, sign up for a free trial account, access your account control panel and download the software.
Easy

Nomachine's Windows client is freely available, but is not free as in libre. You probably could not redistribute it freely.
The problem with the batch solution though is there is not way to run it from the menu. I've tried using software to turn the batch into a com file but then everything just falls apart and the com can't launch the software.
Any other options?
There's a really nice program I use to compile batch files to EXE files:

With the registered version, you can even set it up so the command prompt is not shown, and the commands in the batch file will execute silently.
