Updating to Firefox v127.0 resulted in data loss?

Upon updating to v127.0, and upon first launch, two issues occurred:

1. First, I was prompted for a password. That's never happened before, and in my case, it shouldn't. I'm not using Sync, or Firefox's own password manager, so it was unexpected. I clicked Cancel.

2. Now, more importantly, my last tab session was gone. Instead, there was just one "New Tab" in a completely blank session. I've always had the "open previous windows and tabs" option checked in Settings, and in fact, it still is. Also, these were all grayed out in the History menu: "Restore Previous Session", "Recently Closed Tabs", and "Recently Closed Windows".

So it appears that "\profile\sessionstore.jsonlz4" was deleted?
Not sure about other potential loss or changes.

Working Here

I just upgraded from 126.x to 127.0 without issue. Please provide additional information including "system details (OS version, 32 vs 64-bit), install path, new vs upgrade, etc." Please also include how you upgraded: via the PA.c Platform, manual upgrade installing Firefox Portable over itself, or using the built in updater.

I've updated my OP with the requested info.

Note: Although the app is installed at a local disk path (vs a USB drive), it's always been there, and everything about this was standard. I've always upgraded via the Platform, as I did here, and didn't do anything else differently.

Corruption?

Just to clarify, do you mean it's installed to D:\port_apps\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable?

Neither the installer nor the launcher do anything to touch the file D:\port_apps\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\sessionstore.jsonlz4 at all in their code. I double checked to be sure. So either Firefox itself had an issue with it or the file may have gotten corrupted somehow. You can restore from a recent backup to get your current session back. I had this happen to my installed Firefox session a year or so ago (I did not have a backup).
