I was wondering how people felt about removing old apps that are no longer in development. Like having a rule that if an app hasn't been updated in 10 years it should be removed? Or is it just better let it stay until it stops working with new OS's?
For example, I just saw Abiword hasn't been updated in a decade and even their website is gone.

It depends on the app, generally. If the app is no longer functional, then I pull it. If it's working and doesn't have known security issues, we leave it up. In AbiWord's case, it was in active development up until a few years ago but they'd stopped Windows builds. I'd been hoping that someone else would pick up building the Windows version. It looks like that's not gonna be the case today, unfortunately.

That sounds like a reasonable way to approach it.
I was kind of sad to see that no windows development was being done with it as I did use it in the past. It was very fast and lightweight app that was great for writing formatted documents when you didn't need the more advanced functions of word or libreoffice.

If it works and no sec issues than let it in.
I would the legacy ones also there.
