Search typing after update starts the first app in favorites

Windows 10 Pro / 22H2
Portable Apps 29.5.3 on USB stick

After updating the apps, it often happens that any input in the search field starts the first app in the favourites.
Unfortunately, this behaviour is not always reproducible. But if updates have been made, the probability of this error occurring is very high.
After restarting the PortableApps platform, the search can then be used again without any problems.

More Details, Can't Reproduce

I can't reproduce this on my similar desktop. How are you getting back to the search field after the update? Bringing it back up from the taskbar? Are you clicking on the field or just starting to type? Is the menu set to always show? What language is your OS and your PA.c Platform in?

more informations

Sorry for the late reply.

After closing the update window, the PA interface is brought back to the foreground by clicking on the icon in the task area.
As the search bar is set to always visible and the cursor is already there when it is activated, the name of the desired programme is simply typed. The first program from the favourites list opens as soon as you type the first character.
The operating system and PA interface are in German. The first option is selected for the application list, i.e. favourites and last used applications on the first page and categories on the second page.

Couldn't Reproduce

I installed it in my Windows 10 VM with it set to German with the platform also set to German and couldn't reproduce your issue even after updating an app a few times. I did observe a strange focus issue (which control is currently selected) which I then couldn't reproduce either.

Before the platform minimizes away, what was the last thing you had focused/highlighted in the menu? Does it matter what letter you type first?

It is a pity if it cannot be

It is a pity if it cannot be reproduced. But since it doesn't happen with every update for me either, it's not surprising.

I think that usually nothing was highlighted in the menu before. I start the portable apps. The menu is already minimized at startup. The updater window then appears and the displayed updates are installed. After the updates are completed, the menu is not used immediately. If the required program is not included in the favourites, the search is used. As the search bar is not hidden, the first letter of the program you are looking for is typed. It does not matter which letter it is.

Would it help if a log file was recorded? It may take some time, as I am currently on vacation.

Start the menu minimized?

Do you have the option "Start the menu minimized" checked which is why the menu is already minimized on start? That may play a role if so and I can try to reproduce with that.

Start the menu minimized

Yes. The option "Start the menu minimized" is checked.

Nothing

Nothing connected to start minimized unfortunately. I'm working on some stuff regarding control focus on start up that may effect it for the next release, though.
