App Store Downloads Failing From One USB Drive

Previously I've been using my medicat bootable USB/nvme and if I disable the antivirus ( I have programs that trigger it ) I can load up my portable apps and have it update from the store or download new portable apps.

Recently I've been working on more streamlined use base USB drives. And it seems the fresh portableapp setups dropped into the root of my ventoy USB cannot download most of the apps I've selected from the store without stating :

"Unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location."

I've tried disabling antivirus solutions/firewall , windsock reset , refresh fiber hub and switch/router, confirmed DNS didn't default to ISP DNS, I've tried removing "read only" for the portableapps folder, I've tried doing a manual portableapps update, I've tried a fresh install of the fresh install.

I realize I could download the apps manually. I also already have my own suite of portable tools that I could load as "other app" s, most of which are actually updated versions of some of the tools I'm using the store to get. But that also defeats the purpose of the ability to auto update.

For example. I can consistently produce the same message when getting VLC from the store.

My Medicat drive can still update/retrieve new apps on the same Desktop/laptop on the same network on my installed os and a live boot. I am at a loss here if anyone has a fix I'd love to hear it. In the meantime I will just run a separate USB with shortcuts pulled to the root.

Drive Specific

If it only fails on those PCs from that specific drive, it's not really something we'd have control over. How is that drive formatted?

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Same way as the other drive.

Same way as the other drive. Ventoy drive with an NTFS partition and FAT32 EFI partition. some apps download, others the redirect exclaims "unable to download the file. This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location"
