Hedgewars has to have its game data in Documents and APPDATA to function. There is no way to alter this unfortunately. So the HedgewarsPortable.exe launcher will move your game data to and from those locations on start and exit, backing up and restoring any data that may exist there while the app is running. These files are not left behind after you close the game and the app itself runs from the portable folder.

Is this hard-coded in Hedgewars source code? I know that it deletes the directory in Documents, but if the power is suddenly off or Hedgewars process fails because of error or killed in task manager, all my data including account password remains in Documents directory and can be accessed by someone else on public computers.
As stated there is no way to alter the location. It is hard coded. If the power goes off and you run the app again, it will clean itself up.
