regular FF displayed in ABOUT of "portable" FF

I just tried opening a link from TB portable, but it said FF was already running and I need to close it to open a FF portable. I did, checked the shortcut I use that points to portable FF location and the link opened, but in the opened browser About FF said it was FF, not portable like it used to say. Does it mean I'm actually running regular FF? It forced 2 updates on me so I don't know what happened - now it's v.115.
Thank you for a quick reply.

Associations

You likely associated it with firefox.exe as would happen if you used Firefox itself to make the association. You need to associate it with FirefoxPortable.exe using a third party utility.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

if opened ff by loader or shortcut to it, it should be ok.

I just searched for regular FF, it opened in private window. The interface was original, but it had loads of history even though I never used it! Deleting it from settings did not work! Only deleting from All history worked.

What's going on? Does it mean that history is now on my PC? Can I remove FF to make sure it does not get entangled with the portable?

I never installed it but

I never installed it but there it was called Firefox Private Browsing in FF portable file called FF64(?) I got 2 FF folders in App and don't know which one is the current one I use. Could it be my previous installation of FF portable? FF64 has over 400mb and FF has less than 200. How do I determine the current one and delete the other to free some space? Once it's deleted it will be off the HD? Both are in the FF portable folder. Thank you!
