Joplin 3.3.9 won't start after upgrading

Hi,

The app is present in Task Manager List but nothing happens. I can't access all my works! Sad

So: Win10

Update: I try also with a new fresh installation, but with the same result, app won't start.

[TEMPORARY FIXED]

I made a roll-back to prevous version, taken from official PortableApp repository, here the link:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/Joplin%20Portable/Jo...

Problem seems resolved.

My suggestion is to install a completely fresh older version and then migrate the data from "Data" folder.

Bye!

More Details

Please "include system details (OS version, 32 vs 64-bit), install path, new vs upgrade, etc."

It works without issue on Windows 10 64-bit here

Here system info:
  • Windows 10 64bit
  • installation path is on a partition of my Hard Disk (no USB)
  • in both "New" and "Upgrade" situations
  • the "upgrade" procedure was manual (as standalone app)

Full Path

Please let me know the full path it is installed to (X:\Directory\Another\JoplinPortable). Sometimes, apps have issue with specific bits of paths. We currently have an app that can't run from any path containing "\bin\" for example as well as multiple that fail if any non-ASCII characters are within the path.

Here the compelte path:

D:\SISTEMA\PORTABILI\JoplinPortable (note the use of uppercase in part of the path)

It works perfectly with 3.2.13 but does not load with last 3.3.9

Consider that, during my tests, I tryed also to install a completely fresh and blank 3.3.9 version with another path:

D:\Desktop\JoplinPortable

with the same negative result.

you could try install version

you could try install version to see if same, can test in virtual machine if dont want to install.
or install and deinstall via sys settings. can also try newest from origin if fixed...
can also see in changelog since this V. if fixed this...
EDIT: changelog, https://joplinapp.org/help/about/changelog/desktop/

Not Unusual. Fine

Capital letters aren't unusual and are fine in all apps we've released.

Try 3.3.12

Please try today's 3.3.12 release. If that also fails to start, please try temporarily running Joplin in local mode by running JoplinPortable\App\Joplin\Joplin.exe directly. If there is an error hidden by the portable launcher, running it directly will allow it to show. Though it will run in local mode.

[SOLVED] Now all works fine after upgrading

Step for upgrade:

1) First Install a fresh new JoplinPortable 3.3.12
2) Migrate data ("Data" folder) from previous installation (in my case 3.2.13) to new one

All seems work fine: data, note-structure, settings, plugin...

Thanks a lot for support!
Bye
