ExifToolGUI resets its UI’s language to 'English US', even if the platform is correctly configured and/or the ExifToolGUIPortableSettings.ini file is edited.
Windows 7 x64. Fresh & upgraded installations. Run via the Platform or not.
How to reproduce:
- Install your app on a 64-bit system (tested on Win 7).
- Uncheck the 'Include 32-bit Support' checkbox.
- Run the app (Language of the platform/app must be different from ENG US).
How to bypass the bug:
- Install both of the 32-bit & 64-bit versions.
Wrong Category: On the platform, the app belongs to the Utilities.
To ensure this is working for you, please open up the file ExifToolGUIPortable.ini within App\AppInfo\Launcher and edit line 42 to read:
CheckIfExists=%PAL:AppDir%\ExifToolGUI64\ExifToolGui.%PAL:LanguageCustom%
The category is correct for the current category set as Utilities is more for system stuff, extraction stuff, etc. I'll likely add a Utilities sub-category to Graphics and Pictures or something like that.

Firtstly thanks the the quick reply.
Uninstalled & reinstalled only the 64-bit part and edited the .ini file. Same issue.
About the category, it was just a remark.

That should read:
CheckIfExists=%PAL:AppDir%\ExifToolGUI64\ExifToolGui_X64.%PAL:LanguageCustom%
