It has been several years since I have done anything with a Computer/Laptop.
The Laptop I have is saying I can't install this while in S Mode.
How do I get around this? And is it a bad thing to do?

It's a reinforced security mode for Windows that refuses anything NOT from M$, if you leave it, it won't be possible to go back! (Google it).
