IDM released their editor and compare program in a PAF (non-U3) format today. I've tried the editor out out and am very happy with it.
The relevant page over on their website is:
http://www.ultraedit.com/products/mobility.html
From my standpoint, having a choice of RegEx engines alone has made this worthwhile.
how can we download UltraCompare Pro as portable version? any suggestions?
After more than 10 years, the above link, surprisingly, still works. The 'PAF Version' , like all other available downloads is, initially, a trial version and a commercial licence has to be obtained for continued use, unless the user qualifies for a free (sponsored) licence, i.e. only available to students and/or educators for classroom use..
It is great to have the PAF format.
Yet it registers the editor system wide for many files.
So it is not really portable.
