Just a suggestion.
I don't know how many campers are here on the forums, but when camping or hiking etc. there is a saying "Leave nothing behind" or "If you pack it in, pack it out"
I think the "Leave nothing behind" would be a perfect slogan for PortableApps.
Opinions?
That's a clever one:)
See, one branch of the US military (I forget which one - Army Rangers?...Navy Seals?...) has a slogan something like:
"Leave no man behind"
(indicating that when a comrade falls, his body is to be retrieved and returned home before their unit leaves the area, no matter what)
So, in honor of our troops over there in Iraqistan, you could alter it to
"Leave no traces behind"
"I don't hate cats...as long as they stay on the freeway, where they belong."
- Brad Stine
It kinda sounds like we all sneaky sly people that are like hacking onto other computers and using them without permission.
"The new Stealth"
I think it'd be neat because the apps here leave no trace and are therefore classified as stealth check here

Linux: Because rebooting is for adding hardware
"Leave nothing behind" is not bad, but not so easy to understand if you are new to portableapps. "Your Digital Life, Anywhere" is fine.
I think the reason behind PortableApps is to take your programs with you where ever you go, and not necessarily to not "leave nothing behind".

Computing, Your Way.
Takin' back the Apps!
This has been covered before - Portable Apps leave traces in the Windows\Prefetch folder.
Let's say you get suspected of doing something on a friend's or work machine, and they find prefetch data for file recovery tools or tor.exe in this folder with file dates matching your use of the machine? Busted...
I was planning on posting about this elsewhere, but perhaps renaming portable executables to generic names such as calc you could add to the stealth?
In the meantime, please stop claiming that PA offers stealth access to machines, at best it is misinformed and at worst you could face all kinds of reprisals...
"Your Digital Life, Anywhere" says exactly what it needs to, now if only all the apps would run on OS X and Linux too...
I believe you can run the apps on linux if you install wine.
For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

...good point, but unless you have admin access to the system Wine is not guaranteed, so we could debate the "anywhere" all day.
But I love what John has accomplished here, have used his stuff since Portable FF was a baby, and won't criticise the PA movement in general.
I imagine one day someone will make cross platform apps able to share profiles & run off USB drives, in the meantime at least we're on the right track!
apps here can work on Mac OS X I believe as long as it has CrossOver Mac (a souped upped version of Wine ported to Macs)installed.
But what if the apps were modified to delete the prefetch data (I have no idea what that would do)?
"Now you CAN take it with you"
Reference to you can't take your money, etc. with you when you die...hehehe...
